Plastic pollution is one of the main issues we face when talking about climate change. That and our carbon footprint. But what if I told you there was a way to significantly reduce that?
What is Boxed Water and how is it better for the environment?
69 billion plastic bottles are created every year and only 10% of the plastic bottles are recycled. Boxed Water seeks to fix that by making their cartons 92% plant based, lowering their carbon footprint by 64%, and making their containers 100% recyclable.
Boxed Water has also planted 1 million trees and counting. Each social media post that uses #BetterPlanet accounts for 2 trees planted by Boxed Water. Two trees can remove up to 1 ton of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere.
70% of trash on the beach is plastic so Boxed Water decided to help with that too. They are determined to clean 3,000 miles of pollution on the beaches.
If you think you have heard of them before that is probably because they have been featured on the Ellen Show, Grub Street, and Fast Company. Help spread the word by using these hashtags. (#BetterPlanet #savetheplanet #CCYA)
