Three Species Endangered By Climate Change

The animal in this photo is an American Pika.

Climate change is affecting animals too. To some extent, even worse. There are many more than are named in this article. We are simply naming the ones that are more well known.

Three Endangered Animals Due To Climate Change.

Number one is the Columbia Spotted Frog. These amazing creatures require wet and moist conditions to reproduce. In places like the Yellowstone National Park, bodies of water are decreasing leading to a decline in the Columbia Spotted Frog population.

Number two is the Staghorn Coral. These marvelous beings have declined in population by 80% since the 1970s. The Staghorn Coral is highly vulnerable to bleaching. With increasing water temperatures, these creatures have a lower chance of survival.

Coral Reefs are a keystone species. If they die, entire ecosystems could collapse.

Number three is the American Pika. This incredible critter has moved upward to escape the warming temperatures. People fear that they will eventually have nowhere left to go. In certain locations, the American Pika has already vanished. Other species of Pika in Asia and Eastern Europe are expected to face the same fate.
